Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence

WorkVentures was Microsoft’s first community partner in Australia, working with our Sydney ITeC Repair Centre (SIRC). Since 1986, Microsoft has supported not only ITeC, but also a range of other projects including the development of vocational training courses, the establishment of our refurbished computer division, the development of the Work and You website for job seekers, and our i.settle.with.it program for migrant and refugee job seekers.

In 2005, WorkVentures and Microsoft were awarded the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in the category of Community Business Partnerships: Longevity for our 20 year partnership in helping the community.

In 2005 Microsoft also launched its Microsoft Unlimited Potential program, which aims to improve computer literacy among members of the community regardless of their age, background, education or location, through software donation, education and training, and access to technology. WorkVentures is one of Microsoft’s community partners in this program.

WorkVentures is also a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher, allowing us to load Windows and Microsoft Office software onto refurbished computers as a key part of our low cost PC shop. This program recently celebrated the delivery of its 50,000th low cost PC.

WorkVentures and Microsoft continue to work together, with mutually supportive objectives of connecting Australians and using technology as a means of improving lives and communities.
