Profile: Steve Lawrence
Steve Lawrence has been involved with WorkVentures since 1979, serving as Chief Executive for much of that time.
Recently he has been a consultant for projects for the Australian Social Innovation Exchange (ASIX), the School for Social Entrepreneurs, Australia and the South Australian Government’s design of a national Centre for Social Innovation. He left his position of Founder and Social Entrepreneur at the end of 2008 and will devote himself to consultancy to work as a consultant in social innovation and entrepreneurship. He will also serve as a part-time Executive Officer for a newly incorporated ASIX.
WorkVentures Chairman Neville Cox commented, “While Steve’s formal departure from WorkVentures does leave us with a mixture of sadness, we are delighted that he is pursuing his passion for social change and that other organisations will continue to benefit from his experience and expertise.” The Board paid tribute to his enormous contribution over the years. Steve expressed gratitude to all who have undertaken the journey of achievement with him, adding, “WorkVentures is continuing to prosper under the leadership of CEO, Arsenio Alegre, who brings new skills and energy to the task. I look forward to continuing to be a proud company member as the organisation moves forward.”
